Iggy Azalea’s Plastic Surgery Past

Artist, Iggy Azalea, has been open in the media about the various plastic surgeries that she has undergone. A native to Sydney, Australia, and born to a father who was a painter and a mother that cleaned homes for a living, Iggy moved to the United States at the age of 16. In 2012, she joined Grand Hustle Records with the help of well-known rapper, T.I, and in the following year, she earned a visa to stay in the United States for five years.

She is most known for her mainstream hit, “Fancy”, the Southern American style of her rapping due being influenced by other artists when she lived in Atlanta and Miami, and her striking physique. A major accusation leveled against the star because of Instagram posts that showcase her large backside is that she has received cosmetic surgery. In the widely speculated photo about her backside, Iggy Azalea has turned away from the camera as she sits at the edge of a pool.

In 2014, Iggy Azalea did undergo plastic surgery to have her breasts enlarged. In a 2015 interview with Vogue Magazine, Iggy admitted to undergoing the surgery by saying that she had changed a part of her appearance four months before.

The decision most likely came from various comments that she received upon arriving in the United States nearly ten years ago. Iggy shared in a Vogue interview that she’d received comments while pursuing modeling when people that her that she should get a nose job. This affected herself-confidencee greatly. The ever growing standards of beauty in the entertainment industry can easily be one of the largest reasons why celebrities choose cosmetic procedures. A notable celebrity that Iggy’s physique has been attributed to is Kim Kardashian, who has been the center of plastic surgery speculation.

Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Ashkan Ghavami, received praise from the celebrity in an Instagram post that Iggy Azalea shared in November of 2016. She captioned. Her plastic surgeon revealed to People Magazine that he was able to enlarge her breasts and enable the rapper to perform with Jennifer Lopez at the 2014 American Music Awards just days after the augmentation. The procedure was coined by this surgeon as a flash-recovery breast augmentation. The doctor maintains that the patients do not bleed or bruise following the cosmetic procedure.

The breast implant is placed beneath the muscle and does no damage to blood vessels. He told People Magazine that this allows the implant to be far less invasive, therefore leading to a shorter recovery time and not requiring the patients to take any strong painkillers. It is a method that this surgeon has perfected and is widely known for. This is how the singer was able to dance during her performance just a few days later.

The procedure can take less than 30 minutes with the method that Dr. Ghavami utilizes and can cost over $10,000. A Harper’s Bazar Magazine interview reveals that the procedure can also be done by using excess fat from another part of the body to improve the appearance of the breasts and enhance cleavage.

The work on Iggy’s nose was done to change the shape of it. According to Dr. Ghavami, the tip of the singer’s nose was “very twisted and very wide and boxy”. The doctor chose the route of shaping the nostrils to be narrow and alter the end of her nose.

In addition, Iggy proudly shared on social media that she also goes to Dr. Ghavami for laser skin treatment. Marks on the face are used to make grids that help the doctor acquire an even look to the treatment. The procedure is noninvasive, builds up collagen and can be done in less than an hour. The December 2016 post on social media showed her in the doctor’s office as she was about to receive the treatment.

Although having admitted to the above mentioned cosmetic and surgical procedures, Iggy has adamantly denied getting any other procedures to improve her appearances. While on The Project, a Australian talk show, in 2015, she denied allegations that she has breast implants. In the end, many praise Azalea for her candid reaction to questions about her cosmetic procedure and view her procedures solely as a form of self-empowerment for the celebrity.
